Pilevar said: “This action has been taken to develop agricultural exports and transfer technical knowhow. It can pave the way for broader cooperation in agriculture in the region”.
Referring to international collaborations of the company, he said: “Some countries lack necessary technical knowhow for producing quality seeds. Efforts have been made in this regard, and there is hope that these collaborations can be expanded on a larger scale and ultimately lead to the transfer and export of technical knowhow to those countries as well”.
The CEO of Razavi Seed and Sapling Institute stated that financial value of this export is about IRR 10 billion, adding possibility of production and also increase in exports will be provided by identifying suitable areas for various seedlings and saplings in different regions”.
He also explained about standards for exporting fruit-bearing saplings, saying: “Standards considered for the export of fruit-bearing saplings are related to the quality and health of the saplings”.
Pilehvar continued: “These standards include obtaining a label from the Seed and Plant Certification and Registration Institute, standard and quarantine approvals, after which products will be exported from Iranian borders without any difficulties”.
Talking about quality of saplings he stated: “Suitable packaging has been implemented to prevent physical damage in order to preserve quality of these saplings along the path; necessary measures have also been taken to prevent loss of moisture in roots and stems”.
Elsewhere in his remarks, CEO of the company stressed: “Considering acquisition of quality and health certification and meeting necessary standards, possibility of export at this scale to other countries in the Middle East, Eurasia, and Central Asia is accessible. We are currently identifying new markets and negotiating to expand our foreign markets”.
Pilevar concluded his remarks by saying: “As a knowledge-based organization and with production of diverse varieties of fruit and examining compatibility of seedlings with the climatic conditions of different countries, Razavi Seed and Sapling Institute will definitely seek to expand the shipment of various varieties to Middle Eastern, Eurasian, and Central Asian countries”.
