The largest Nowruz gathering of Iranians began at Imam Reza shrine as the final hours of the year approached.
Visitors from all corners of the country – from the north, the south, and the historical city of Yazd – united to celebrate the Persian New Year in the presence of Imam Reza.
Pilgrims flooded the streets and courtyards of the sacred shrine, their hearts tethered to the holy enclosure, as they sought blessings for a year filled with goodness and prosperity. The sounds of Quran recitations, prayers, and heartfelt whispers intertwined in this spiritual ambiance.
With Nowruz coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (the 1st Shia Imam), the ceremony reflected a blend of hope and sorrow, merging farewells and welcomes into a profound and emotional experience. Amid the golden glow of the shrine’s dome, the light of hope warmed the hearts of Imam Reza's devotees.
The "Proud with You" special New Year program began at 10 a.m. in Prophet Muhammad Courtyard. The event featured performances, a speech, and poetic recitations.
The second part of the New Year celebrations commenced at 8:15 p.m. in Imam Khomeini Portico, with recitation of the Opening Supplication (Dua al-Iftitah). The ceremony concluded with a speech and a moving recitation of the Komeil prayer, offering a spiritual start to the new year for the attendees.
