Hoj. Seyyed Mohammad Zolfaqari, the Deputy for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs, highlighted AQR’s commitment to enhancing services for visitors from diverse backgrounds.
Speaking in an interview, he noted: “With over three decades of experience and modern technology, the shrine offers a range of services catering to both Muslim and non-Muslim visitors”.
The office operates round-the-clock, supported by multilingual experts and honorary caretakers, ensuring a meaningful spiritual experience for all international pilgrims.
Zolfaqari outlined five primary ways visitors can access these services. These include in-person visits to specialized porticoes —Dar al-Rahmah (for Azeri and Arabic speakers), Ghadir (for Urdu and South Asian visitors), and Melal (for English and French speakers).
Additionally, services can be accessed via phone at +98 513 200 2800 or through international communication networks like WhatsApp and Telegram at +98 990 509 9035.
Visitors can also utilize the Nasim Rezvan app or seek assistance at on-site kiosks, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons.
Furthermore, platforms such as Peik-e Zaer magazine, shrine televisions, posters, and hotel advertisements provide information about the shrine’s services.
For Muslim pilgrims, special programs include congregational prayers, Quran recitation, supplications, interpretation sessions, and devotional gatherings in Arabic, Azeri, and Urdu.
Cultural activities encompass museum tours, Hekayat Aftab exhibitions, educational workshops, and international conferences.
Additionally, religious services include answering jurisprudential queries, organizing Coming of Age ceremonies, and officiating religious marriages in accordance with shrine regulations.
Regarding non-Muslim visitors, Zolfaqari explained that guided tours must be coordinated with the office. Educational services introduce Imam Reza’s legacy, the shrine’s history, and pilgrimage concepts through multimedia resources and guided tours. Cultural offerings include museum visits and exhibitions, along with historical consultations and Islamic counseling for those interested in learning about the religion.
He concluded his remarks by emphasizing that "all efforts at the shrine aim to provide high-quality services grounded in human dignity. Pilgrimage to Imam Reza Shrine serves as an opportunity to strengthen religious and cultural bonds among nations, fostering an environment of kindness and spirituality that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor".

The Deputy Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs at Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) emphasizes the importance of cultural diversity in its international outreach.
