Imam Reza Intl. Congress guests exchange views over spiritual perfection, better world: experts

A number of famous Iranian intellectuals and elites highlight important role of Islamic and Razavi teachings in driving mankind towards spiritual perfection and a better life during their lectures and discussions in the 6th Imam Reza International Congress underway in Mashhad.

Saeedreza Ameli, secretary of the 6th Imam Reza International Congress said: “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights lacks a monotheistic foundation and cannot secure true interests of humanity; the result of this is continuation of oppression and genocide in the world”.
He added: “Rationality without God cannot be a guide for human life; setting the religion aside has created serious crises for modern man”.
“This perspective began with the first Imam Reza International Congress in 1983 under the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution and has continued to this day”, he noted.
“Our mission is to present the divine and civilizational thought of Imam Reza (AS) at the global level. If the message is important and needed, it will certainly find a place in people's hearts”, he added.
As another key speaker of the event, Dr. Hossein Simaei Sarraf, Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology, stated: “The theme of the 6th International Congress of Imam Reza is one of the serious concerns of humanity and should be given serious attention in the contemporary era. After two devastating world wars, humanity thought about global peace and concluded that dignity can create peace, and human dignity is the foundation, source of value, justice, freedom, and the right to self-determination.”
Also, Dr. Mohammad Reza Mokhber, head of the Academy of Sciences, explained human rights and dignity in Razavi civilization in comparison to Western approaches. "Human civilizations have always been formed based on philosophical, religious, and ethical views on humans, rights, and dignity, and Islamic civilization, by adhering to Quran and Ahl al-Bayt (AS)”.
Mokhber further noted: “Teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) can be divided into three periods of caliphate, period of establishing scientific and cultural foundation which began with Imam Sajjad (AS) and continued until Imam Sadiq (AS), and the period from Imam Kazim (AS) until the time of Imam Mahdi (AS) and the present era”.
He stated: “Returning to the pure Islamic heritage with emphasis on re-reading Razavi teachings is a necessity for filling cultural and political gaps”.
Speaking next, Ayatollah Ramezani, member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts said: “In the teachings of Quran and Ahl al-Bayt (AS), there are two principles: dignity and justice and oppression and submission to oppression. Human dignity must always be preserved, dignity is one of the most important teachings of the divine prophets, and infallible Imams (AS) were the greatest heralds of dignity and justice”.
The Ayatollah pointed out: “The first verses of Quran introduce the Prophet  (pbuh), the angels, and the Holy Book, and regarding humans, God has bestowed upon humans the status of dignity”.
“The prerequisite for achieving dignity is that humans utilize capacities God has bestowed upon them and actualize this capacity”, he concluded.
