Speaking in a ceremony, Seyed Milad Taqavi, president of Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation, emphasized: “The donation reflects the deep respect and spiritual connection of the volleyball community to Imam Reza”.
“Visiting the shrine was a privilege, and the federation wished to bring a meaningful offering, choosing one of their most prestigious achievements—the World Youth Championship trophy—as a tribute”, he stated.
Taqavi expressed hope that future generations who see the trophy in the museum would remember the national team’s dedication and perseverance.
“This act of devotion would serve as a source of strength for Iranian athletes as they face challenges in Asian and global competitions”, he noted.
In addition to the championship trophy, the federation also donated the 2017 World Student Games gold medal, won by Dr. Monazami, the federation’s secretary-general.
Taqavi described the donation as a great honor, placing some of Iran’s finest sporting achievements in one of the country’s most sacred locations.
He further emphasized that seeking blessings from the Ahl al-Bayt has always been a source of spiritual support for Iranian athletes, expressing hope that Imam Reza’s blessings will guide the national team in their future international endeavors.
