1st Natl. Congress on Martyr Raeisi’s governance model held at Imam Reza Shrine

On the first martyrdom anniversary of Ayatollah Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, the 1st National Congress on his governance model was inaugurated at Imam Reza Shrine, northeast Iran, bringing together political figures, scholars, and officials to examine his leadership philosophy and contributions to the Islamic Revolution.

The event, hosted at the Quds Hall of the shrine, was attended by high-ranking officials, including Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, Mohsen Rezaei, member of the Expediency Discernment Council, Mostafa Feizi, deputy custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, and Reza Khorakian, the chief  director of the shrine.
Several military and governmental representatives also participated in the congress to discuss Raeisi’s governance approach.
Speaking in the event, Mohsen Rezaei emphasized the necessity of jihadist governance and asserted: “Ayat. Raeisi had pioneered a governance model rooted in Islamic and revolutionary values”.
He described the late Iranian president as a key figure who upheld a simple life, responsibility, and public trust, adding that his leadership must serve as a blueprint for future generations.
Rezaei expressed profound sorrow over Ayat. Raeisi’s passing, stating: “His martyrdom, despite being a tragic loss, symbolizes the continued path of the Islamic Revolution”.
He went on to argue that “Raeisi’s legacy remains deeply embedded in the movement, ensuring its resilience”.
The member of the Expediency Discernment Council outlined three fundamental aspects of Martyr Raeisi’s influence: his personal character, his governance philosophy, and the broader significance of his martyrdom, noting that each warrants independent examination.
Mohsen Rezaei also credited Iran's former president’s policies for addressing key economic challenges through reliance on domestic resources.
Additionally, he pointed out Martyr Raeisi’s firm stance in international negotiations, where he rejected Western pressure while securing important economic agreements for Iran.
According to Hoj. Khosropanah, secretary of the congress, some 528 research papers have been submitted by scholars and experts, covering 11 thematic areas, including governance models in economics, defense, security, judiciary, political affairs, and social transformation.
“The congress aims to establish a governance framework aligned with the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and demonstrated through Martyr Raeisi’s leadership”, he emphasized.
The event concluded with a tribute to Ayat. Raeisi and his fellow martyrs, recognizing their sacrifices in service of the nation and reinforcing the commitment to uphold their vision for governance.
The late Iranian president lost his life in a tragic chopper crash on May 21, last year.
