Hundreds of canopies installed at Imam Reza shrine for pilgrims comfort

With the arrival of spring and rising temperatures, Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) has installed more than 200 canopies across the courtyards of Imam Reza shrine to enhance visitor comfort and well-being.

Each year, as the summer heat approaches, canopies are fixed at the central and high-traffic courtyards of Imam Reza shrine to provide shade for pilgrims.
This initiative allows visitors to perform their prayers and rituals in a cooler environment while ensuring ease of movement in the shade.
The Organization for Construction and Maintenance of Astan Quds Razavi oversees the annual inspection and servicing of existing canopies. The process includes fabric replacements and necessary repairs before installation in the central courtyards.
Following software-based simulations to determine optimal placement, the canopies are transported to designated locations and installed by shrine maintenance staff.
This year, over 200 canopies have been serviced, repaired, and installed under the auspices of the organization.
