In a meeting with director of international affairs of Imam Reza International University, Dr. Ziya emphasized the necessity of expanding and teaching Persian language in Uzbek society stating, “We request institutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran dedicated to teaching Persian language to help us in expanding and teaching this language in Uzbekistan”.
He added: “In addition to comprehensive Persian language education, many of our scientific and historical sources in Uzbekistan are in Persian, and we ask you to help us in this matter by sending professors and holding Persian language courses”.
In his turn, Dr. Ebrahim Davoudi, director of international affairs of Imam Reza International University, introduced capabilities of the university's Persian Language Teaching Center, saying: “Emphasis made by the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi and chancellor of Imam Reza International University on the necessity of teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers has made our responsibility for teaching Persian heavier”
He went on to say: “The university's Persian Language Teaching Center is ready to cooperate with cultural institutions by offering numerous educational programs at general and specialized levels, with an approach to reading ancient texts for Institute of History of the Uzbekistan Republic”.
The joint meeting was held on the sidelines of an official visit to the Central Asian Republic by a delegation from the Scientific and Cultural Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi.

“Persian language is the common civilizational heritage of Iran and Uzbekistan and we are trying to teach this language, alongside the Uzbek language, to all our citizens,” says Azamat Ziya, Professor of Iranian Studies and director of the Institute of History of the Uzbekistan Republic.
