Digital copies of AQR Library’s manuscripts available at National Library of Uzbekistan

The National Library of Uzbekistan in Tashkent has now been given access to rare manuscripts kept at Astan Quds Razavi’s Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Documents Center, giving access to the enthusiastic researchers in the Central Asian republic.

The move is the first step in implementing joint cooperation agreement between Organization of Libraries, Museums, and Documents Center of Astan Quds Razavi and the National Library (Alisher Navoi Library) of Uzbekistan, which was concluded on May 22, 2025.
All necessary preparations for launching this digital station were made before the return of Iranian delegation, following approval of Hoj Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, head of the organization, and a phone call by "Umida Tashabayeva", director of the National Library of Uzbekistan.  The idea came to fruition after arrival of the Iranian technical team in Uzbekistan and establishing an online connection with the AQR Central Library in Mashhad.
Members of the National Library of Uzbekistan in Tashkent have now the possibility of browsing over 50,000 digitized manuscripts available in Razavi Treasury.
In addition to running this digital station for studying manuscripts, a digital study station for Persian and Arabic printed books with the capability to request acquisition of over 500,000 titles has also started operating at Tashkent Library.
A delegation from Scientific and Cultural Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi took a trip to Uzbekistan with the aim of visiting scientific and cultural centers and boosting cultural cooperation with the Central Asian republic. An important achievement of the delegation was signing a cooperation agreement with National Library of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
