4th Intl. Congress of Imam Reza and Modern Sciences highlights pilgrimage role in family education

Scholars and religious experts gathered at the 4th International Congress of Imam Reza and Modern Sciences to discuss the significance of pilgrimage in shaping family education and moral development.

The 4th International Congress of Imam Reza and Modern Sciences commenced in Mashhad, northeast Iran, bringing together scholars and intellectuals from Iran and 16 world countries.
Hosted by Imam Reza International University (IRIU), the event coincided with the anniversary of the marriage of Imam Ali and Hazrat Fatima.  
The event featured prominent figures, including Dr. Abdolhamid Talebi, head of the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi, Hoj. Mostafa Faqih Esfandiari, deputy for International Affairs at Astan Quds Razavi, and Dr. Ahad Faramarz Gharamaleki, professor of philosophy at the University of Tehran.
Discussions centered on Imam Reza’s contributions to educational sciences, with ten specialized committees addressing topics such as social and political education, economic guidance, ethical and spiritual development, rational training, pilgrimage, media influence, arts and architecture, and family planning.  
During the opening ceremony, Hoj. Seyed Reza Moadab, scientific director of the congress, emphasized the pivotal role of pilgrimage in family education and human prosperity.
“Spiritual connection with the Ahl al-Bayt in fostering moral and social growth is highly important “, he highlighted.
Moadab stressed: “Proper upbringing is essential for achieving true happiness, citing Islamic teachings that prioritize ethical refinement”.  
He further noted that pilgrimage serves as a model for strengthening family bonds and spiritual awareness, reinforcing the significance of visiting religious sites.
“Imam Reza shrine remains a timeless source of guidance, offering believers a path to moral and intellectual enrichment”, Moadab said.
The congress also featured discussions on the necessity of integrating Imam Reza’s teachings into academic research, with scholars urging researchers to utilize authentic sources such as Sheikh Saduq’s Uyun Akhbar al-Reza.
Moadab underscored the importance of precision in attributing statements to Imam Reza, ensuring scholarly integrity.  
The event concluded with reflections on the enduring relevance of ethical education, with references to the works of Martyr Morteza Motahhari, who emphasized the intrinsic link between moral virtues and human nature.
Scholars expressed hope that the congress would contribute to promoting ethical values and nurturing future generations.
