Turkish Alawite leaders, AQR deputy for international affairs meet in Mashhad

A number of Alawite leaders from 12 provinces of the Republic of Turkey have met with Hoj. Mostafa Faqih Esfandiari, deputy for international affairs of Astan Quds Razavi to explore avenues for strengthening religious and cultural ties and boosting cooperation.

Addressing the Turkish religious delegation, Hoj. Faqih Esfandiari’s referred to Muslims’ perceptions regarding US-Israeli plans in the region, explaining about behavior with Alawites in the region.
Hoj. Faqih Esfandiari highlighted the importance of scientific development of Alawite children, suggesting: “It’s better for the children of Alawite leaders to reside in holy cities of Mashhad or Qom for years to study and acquire religious knowledge”. In his view, this can significantly help create positive changes among Alawite sect upon their return to Turkey.
Providing accommodations for Alawite people or establishing residential centers belonging to them around the holy shrine was proposed by Hoj. Faqih Esfandiari. 
Turkish Alawite leaders, in return, referred to the historical and deep roots of the religious connection between people of Anatolia and Khorasan, emphasizing that Khorasan is the origin of the people of Anatolia and the migration route of religious people and preachers to Anatolia leading to promotion of school of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in that region.
They stressed that people of Anatolia attach special significance to Khorasan and Imam Reza (AS) and Alawite Muslims respect people associated with the Imam and Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) family.
The meeting concluded with Alawite leaders expressing their appreciation and gratitude for the hospitality of International Affairs Department of Astan Quds Razavi and receiving a blessed flag of Imam Reza (AS).
