The Banovan Velayi (literally meaning women faithful to Wilayah) conference was held at the shrine, organized by the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs.
The event took place in Dar al-Rahmah Portico on the eve of Eid al-Ghadir, with distinguished Arabic-speaking women from Iraq, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia in attendance.
Ms. Taghrid Mohammad Jawani delivered the keynote speech, highlighting: “Women play a fundamental role in preserving the principles of Wilayah (divinely sanctioned guardianship, authority, or spiritual leadership) and nurturing committed future generations”.
“The primary responsibility of mothers is to raise children by emulating the lives of Imam Ali and Hazrat Fatima, embodying both love and practice of Imam Ali’s tradition’, she emphasized.
She explained: “A woman devoted to Wilayah uses every opportunity to teach her children religious principles, doing so gently and in a child-friendly manner to ensure lasting influence”.
She further stressed that teaching prayer is among a mother’s most important duty, as it is a pillar of religious life and essential to a child's ethical and spiritual development.
Jawani underscored that a true follower of Imam Ali not only holds affection for him but also actively follows his example, shaping a life infused with the spirit of Imam Ali’s values.
The conference, designed to celebrate women as custodians of Ahl al-Bayt’s teachings and nurturers of Wilayah-oriented families, featured a eulogy performance, group recitations (Tawasheeh), a children and youth workshop, the final round of the Ghadir sermon memorization contest, and the awarding of prizes to the winners.

Coinciding with Wilayah ten-day celebrations, Arab women gathered at Imam Reza shrine (northeast Iran) to honor the legacy of Ahl al-Bayt and the role of women in nurturing a faithful generation.
