Persian language refresher course launched for Uzbek professors

Imam Reza International University (IRIU) hosts intensive training course to strengthen cultural and academic ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In a bid to expand scientific and cultural relations between Iran and Uzbekistan, the Persian Language Training Center at Imam Reza International University (IRIU) is set to host its first specialized refresher course for a group of university professors from Uzbekistan.

The head of IRIU announced that this intensive course is designed to enhance Persian language proficiency and teaching skills among selected Uzbek professors.

The program also aims to deepen academic and cultural exchanges between the two neighboring, linguistically connected nations.

According to Dr. Ebrahim Daneshifar: “The course will run from July 24 to August 5, 2025, and will be held in person at the university in Mashhad”.

Participants will be introduced to the latest methods and innovative techniques in Persian language instruction and will benefit from the expertise of leading Iranian educators.

“Persian is a shared and valuable linguistic heritage for both nations, and such programs play a vital role in strengthening cultural and linguistic bonds”, he emphasized.

The course is expected to improve the quality of Persian language education in Uzbek universities and foster greater interest in learning Persian among Uzbek students.

The program includes over 40 hours of classes and specialized workshops led by experts in Persian language education.

Key areas of focus include the four core language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—alongside practical strategies for correcting pronunciation errors and common mistakes.

Participants will also learn contemporary vocabulary, techniques for reading and analyzing classical texts and manuscripts, and creative approaches to teaching Persian to non-native speakers.

In addition to academic content, the course offers cultural immersion opportunities.

Participants will visit historical, cultural, and tourist sites in Khorasan, including the architectural landmarks of Imam Reza Shrine, the central library and museums of Astan Quds Razavi, Ferdowsi’s tomb, Akhlamad recreational area, the mausoleums and ancient sites of Neyshabur, and the historic city of Kalat-e Naderi.
