In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Babaei referred to the public display of the work at the holy shrine of Kadhimiya, saying: “The whole work has been written by 30 senior Iranian calligraphers who have created it on behalf of martyrs of defenders of holy shrines”.

He stated: “This gifted work has a piece of writing by Ayatollah Khamenei at its beginning who has appreciated the writing and dedicating of the work. Leader’s note reads: “They have initiated a valuable work and created an exquisite and lasting version of holy Quran. I would like to thank all those respected people for this honorable initiative and also for giving this great gift to me.”

Talking about details of the new version of Quran, Babaei said: “Names of about one thousand Iranian, Iraqi, Afghan, Lebanese, Syrian, and Pakistani martyrs of holy shrines with different faiths have been listed on every page of this Quran”.

Concluding his remarks, executive manager of the Center for Printing and Publishing Holy Quran added: “Another work of almost same features dedicated to the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) was gifted to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as well”.
