Shrine electronic endowment system facilitates donations in cash, boosts transparency

Electronic system used for endowments at Imam Reza Shrine facilitates donations in cash and boosts transparency for donors and pilgrims, says Seyed Hadi Mansourian, head of technology development at Astan Quds Razavi’s endowments office.

Emphasizing implementation of technology projects and virtual systems for convenience of donors from anywhere in the world, Mansourian stated: “Astan Quds Razavi (AQR) uses various tools for effective and transparent management of public endowments. Online electronic systems are among technologies that allow donors to easily register and send their endowments easily”.
He noted: “Astan Quds Razavi also strives to promote culture of vows and endowments by holding ceremonies such as honoring donors, commending benefactors, and distributing blessed items among the needy”.
Stating that promoting culture of donation and developing it into a social movement can have a significant impact on cultural and social dimensions of the society, Manoursian mentioned: “To expand this culture, various methods have been proposed including education, launching social campaigns, and encouraging participation in such affairs”.
Head of technology development at Astan Quds Razavi’s endowments office   emphasized: “From a social perspective, vows and donations help improve situation of the needy and solve social problems. These moves strengthen a sense of empathy and cooperation and lead to increased solidarity and collective participations”.
“Astan Quds Razavi has made online payment for charities and endowments possible through Nasim Razvan application. Benefactors and donors can specify where their charities and endowments should be used,” said the official adding, “In addition, the history of payments and intentions can be saved and viewed within this application”.
