According to Atabe News, on Monday, October 26, 2026, the Social Services Deputy Office of the Razavi Benevolence Foundation, in line with the directive of the custodian of Astan Quds Razavi and its continued social support for the resilient city of Lamerd, hosted 320 family members of martyrs and people injured in the terrorist attack of February 2026.
At around 3 p.m. on Monday, the visitors arrived at Mashhad Railway Station aboard two trains. Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by servants of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and officials of the Razavi Benevolence Foundation, amid an atmosphere filled with emotion and joy, with flowers and the fragrance of incense.
A Story of Hospitality
Mohammad Maali, Director of Pilgrim Affairs at the Razavi Benevolence Foundation, explained the details of the visit in an interview with Astan News on the sidelines of the welcoming ceremony.
“In line with the directive of the respected custodian to provide a range of social services to the resilient city of Lamerd, arrangements were made to bring the families of the martyrs and veterans of that tragic incident to Mashhad,” he said.
He added: “Due to limitations in securing railway tickets, these dear guests were dispatched in two groups on trains from Bandar Abbas and Shiraz, and they all arrived in Mashhad today, October 26.”
Referring to the plans prepared for these special guests, the Director of Pilgrim Affairs noted: “They will be guests of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) for four nights. During their stay, all travel expenses will be covered, including accommodation, daily meals, snacks, and transportation to and from the Holy Shrine. Special cultural and recreational programs have also been arranged.”
Maali mentioned several of these activities, including a collective spiritual pilgrimage, a visit to the Astan Quds Razavi Museum, attendance at the Imam Reza (AS) Guesthouse, and a half-day recreational outing in Mashhad.
“At the end of their visit, on Friday, October 30, these dear guests will leave Mashhad for their hometowns, following the same travel arrangements as on their journey here. During the farewell ceremony, souvenirs from Mashhad and blessed gifts associated with Imam Reza (AS) will be presented to them,” he said.
Today, Mashhad became a refuge for grieving hearts, once again demonstrating that this benevolent shrine is a safe haven for all those who have endured the wounds inflicted by ruthless enemies in the pursuit of truth and justice.
