Speaking on the sidelines of Hazrat Ali Asghar World Assembly, Sabeti Angoui, a seminary student in Al-Mustafa International University (MIU), thanked Imam Reza shrine officials for making the gathering possible, saying: “This event is aimed at introducing the true Shia Islam and Karbala incident to the world”.    

Stressing the Shia’s stance against oppression, the African preacher noted: “The foremost message of this event to the world is the fact that oppression is inappropriate. It also emphasizes the legitimacy of Shia Islam as a peaceful faith that stands up to oppression, especially when committed against children”.

He added that the event could be the best opportunity to convey the messages to the world without giving lectures.

“We are very active internationally, but we need to do more. Promotion of Shia Islam is a must in the face of the US that distorts reality with its Hollywood”, continued the Congolese PhD student of law.

Sabeti Angoui touched upon the central role of media in promotion of Shia message, noting: “We need to do robust media work and produce rich and reasonable content that conform to the human nature”.  

“We have made strides in this area; however, we shouldn’t overlook the enemy’s attempts to spread a wrong culture. Our enemies use the Internet to promote their own culture, and we need to respond in kind since we own nice and humane content”, added he.

The Congolese religious preacher continued that humankind was permanently seeking spirituality in Yoga and other areas, but “the paragon of spirituality is to be found in Islam, particularly in Shia, as it complies with human’s reason and nature”.

He concluded his remarks by stressing that: “We have to convey the message of Prophet Muhammad’s Infallible Household to society, and let the world hear the voice of Shias in a practical way”.
