Gathering of ‘Imam Hussain’s Sucklings’ underway in Imam Reza shrine

The great gathering of ‘Imam Hussain’s Sucklings’ got underway in Imam Reza shrine, northeast Iran, on the first Friday of Muharram (1st month on the lunar calendar), which is named International Day of Ali Asghar, Imam Hussain’s infant child who was martyred in the battle of Karbala, 680 AD.

The gathering was held in Imam Khomeini Portico of the shrine on Friday morning, July 12.

Speaking in the event, Hoj Biazar Tehrani said: “All the incidents on the day of Ashura (10th day of Muharram) were tragic, but the martyrdom of Ali Asghar was a catastrophe, which shook to the core not only the earthlings, but also the heavenly figures”.

The scholar praising the respectable personality of Hazrat Robab, Ali Asghar’s mother, adding: “This honorable woman was a veritable paragon of courtesy and patience who did not back down in the wake of Karbala incident and stood up in defense of Imam Hussain under the blazing sun”.

He further lamented the killing of thousands of Gazan children at the hands of Israeli tyrants.
