In his visit to Imam Muhammad Bagher Seminary, the shrine’s Custodian, Ayat. Ahmad Marvi, emphasized that clerical work is not just a job but a mission, stating, “Guiding society is one of the most valuable and important tasks that makes the clerical role the continuation of the mission of divine prophets and saints”.
Marvi recalled the sacrifices made by prominent Shia scholars throughout history to preserve Islamic and Ahl al-Bayt’s teachings, noting, “Many scholars were imprisoned or martyred to protect these teachings”.
He stressed that clerics must learn and master the methods of communicating with and guiding the youth, most of whom, despite differing appearances, are not anti-religion.
Additionally, Marvi underlined the necessity of training in methodology and communication, particularly for interactions with the younger generation, noting, “Clerics should be equipped with these skills during their training period”.
He also pointed out that clerics should be politically aware and familiar with contemporary societal issues to effectively fulfill their guiding role.
Marvi concluded his remarks by citing Imam Khomeini and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the best standards and criteria, urging clerics to follow their example within the framework of the Imams and the Velayat-e Faqih (guardianship of the Islamic jurist).
The custodian of Imam Reza shrine highlighted the critical role of clerics in enlightening and guiding the younger generation.
