Tens of non-delinquent debtors released from prison in Khorasan provinces

Some 88 non-delinquent debtors have been released from prison in Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, and South Khorasan provinces as part of the National Campaign of Imam Reza’s Offering.

Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony, Mohammad Hossein Ostad Agha, CEO of Karamat Razavi Foundation of Imam Reza shrine, said: "The National Campaign of Imam Reza’s Offering was initiated by the shrine and managed by the foundation in 2021. Today, it has grown into a significant social movement, playing a crucial role in freeing non-criminal offenders”.
Since the launch of the campaign, some 1,000 non-criminal offenders have been released.
These prisoners collectively owed approximately $9.2 m, of which some $4.2 m was forgiven by the claimants, with the remainder being paid by benefactors, Imam Reza shrine, and the Diyeh (Blood Money) Fund.
