Salman’s anti-oppression stance, model for fight against Zionism

Deputy for International Affairs of Imam Reza shrine said obedience to Islamic authority and Imam Mahdi was the most prominent features of Salman Farsi’s life.

Speaking in the event ‘Salman, Confluence Point of Faiths’ held to commemorate Salman Farsi, a dignified companion of Prophet Muhammad, in the Iraqi city of Al-Mada'in, where Salman’s mausoleum is located, Hoj Mostafa Faghih Esfandyari said: “What did Salman do that the Prophet considered him one of his special companions?”

To answer this question, he pointed to Quranic verses and Hadiths adding: “God bestowed authority and wisdom to Salman; he was the astute ruler of Al-Mada’in. How could he be blessed with both authority and wisdom? According to Quran, rulers are abundantly blessed by God”.

“As asserted by Imam Sadegh, Salman had a number of outstanding qualities. First, his contact with the needy, which was a symbol of his asceticism; second, his association with scholars; and his exemplary obedience to Imam Ali, which has to be a model for us”, continued Hoj Faghih Esfandyari.

The Deputy for International Affairs of the shrine clarified that Salman had obeyed the Prophet’s call to revive Islam in both words and action.

“If we’re to put Salman’s qualities in a nutshell, it will be his obedience to the guardianship of Islam, which has come to be a model for today and future human communities”, stated he.

Stressing that Salman’s anti-oppression stance in social fields and his attempts to spread justice in society, Hoj Faghih Esfandyari said: “Had he been present today, he’d have definitely spearhead fight against Zionism”.
