The profound invocation of ‘O Allah, I ask You by Your name, O Allah, O Merciful, O Compassionate, O Generous…’ resounded among the pilgrims, entwining their pleas. Cries of ‘Help, Help!’ (pleaded from God) echoed in the rainy skies above the shrine as worshippers, teary-eyed and vigilant, reached out to the Creator for mercy and blessings.
The 23rd of Ramadan night vigil commenced at 19:45 in Imam Khomeini Portico, drawing a massive gathering of pilgrims and locals.
The ceremony included recitations of Surahs Rum, Dukhan, and Ankabut.
Visitors chanted the moving supplication of Joshan Kabir - ‘Help, Help!’.
Hoj. Masoud Aali delivered a sermon emphasizing the virtues of the Night of Qadr and the recommended acts to perform on this auspicious night.
“According to several narrations from the Imams, the 23rd night is the Night of Qadr with near certainty, urging attendees to dedicate themselves to its spiritual practices”, he highlighted.
The religious expert further explained that a faithful believer firmly trusts in God's will and thus never finds themselves at an impasse in life, always discovering paths out of challenges.
He stressed: “Reliance on God is highly important, and one who places trust in Him perceives all creations as His soldiers and believes every matter is under His control, with no autonomy against His divine will”.
The ceremony culminated in the sacred Quran-on-head ritual, where participants beseeched God's mercy and forgiveness through the Quran, revealed on the Night of Qadr, pleading for divine pardon of their sins and inclusion in His boundless grace.
